 Halifax CTC presents:

The route had a major revision for 2009 which removed some busy roads and is now a 53.9 kilometre ride from Hebden Bridge, into the Aire valley, with a very generous time limit based on a minimum speed of 8 kph (that's 5 mph) and a maximum of 20 kph. With cafe stops at Scar Top and Keighley, you can have a leisurely day, share good company and good scenery, and get a sense of achievement at the finish.

ENTRY FORM

ROUTE SHEET       Word (*.doc) format       Adobe *.pdf format

Please note that there is no space for car parking at the start. There are other car parks close by in Hebden Bridge, although there is pressure on space in this tourist town. Some of the car parks now only allow 3 or 4 hours parking. The car parks at Garden Street, Market Place, New Road, and Garden Square all offer unrestricted parking. If arriving by car, you could park outside town and ride in, but whatever you choose to do, please be sure to allow time to find a space and to get to the event HQ in plenty of time for the start.

The event forms part of the CTC West Yorkshire DA Events Programme and is registered with the CTC Tourist Competition. There is an entry fee of £3.00 for members of Audax UK, CTC, or BCF. In order to obtain public liability cover, people who are not members of these organizations need to take out temporary membership of Audax UK. Full details are on the entry form.

The route covers approximately 60 km, taking you from the heart of West Yorkshire into Airedale, and back again, with a generous time allowance for completion. There is a minimum average speed required of 8 kph and a maximum of 20 kph, giving an upper time limit of 6 hours 38 minutes for completion.

Brief route details are as follows: -

Hebden Bridge - Oxenhope - Stanbury - Scar Top - Hill Top - Keighley - Oxenhope – Hebden Bridge.
